How to print name badges people can read
Print eight readable name badges on one A4 sheet. What belongs on the badge, how to print it, and why this layout is not an Avery sticker sheet.
A name badge has one job: the other person should read the name before they have to ask. If the company line is bigger than the name, the badge has failed.
The name badge maker turns a list of names into eight badges on an A4 sheet. You can add an organization, a color, and a logo. There is no signup and no watermark.
What goes on the badge
- The name, large enough to read at arm’s length.
- One short second line: company, team, role, or table. Leave it off if it does not help the conversation.
- The event name, small, so a dropped badge can be returned.
- A logo only if it still leaves room for the name.
Long names wrap to two lines. Check the preview before you print a stack. A 40-character company name will not survive a badge.
From a spreadsheet to a sheet of paper
- Export the attendee list as CSV. A column named name, full name, or attendee name is enough. First name and last name work too. Company, organization, role, team, or detail can fill the second line.
- Paste the CSV or upload it. Quoted names that contain commas are fine. The limit is 500 people in one batch, and the file stays in your browser.
- Set the event title, color, and an optional PNG, JPEG, or WebP logo under 2 MB.
- Print or save a PDF. Use A4, 100% scale, and turn browser headers and footers off. Cut along the guides.
This is not an Avery sticker sheet
Search results for a free name tag template are full of Avery layouts, Word files, and Canva pages. Those products expect pre-cut adhesive labels with their own measurements. This layout is eight cut-out badges on plain A4. Test on copy paper first if you later move to card or a different label stock.
Printable badges are for the people already on your list. When you need guests to register, pay, and show a QR code at the door, start an event and check them in by scan.
